The Company is an award-winning group of gastro pubs, many of their establishments have been awarded with accolades and they are very much a food focused company with each pub having its own identity. This Gastro Pub situated in Chelsea, South West London is seeking a talented Head Chef on a full-time permanent basis to join their awarded wining kitchen brigade. This Gastro Pub has a great reputation for producing fresh English cuisine with a twist. They have always been a focal point of the local community and as such needs creative and dedicated people who are passionate about what they do, enjoy constantly evolving menu development and want to go the extra mile to make sure the guests have a great experience. Key Features of the Role: * As Head Chef you will need to have management skills to control and directing the food preparation process and any other relative activities. * Have the ability to construct menus with new or existing culinary creations ensuring the variety and quality of the servings. Approving and “polishing” dishes before they reach the customer. * Everyone in the brigade, from the Kitchen Porter to the Sous Chef, looks to you for inspiration – and you'll have to hold your own with the front of house restaurant staff. * Be a born leader who relishes taking responsibility for the running of the kitchen, but also knows when and how to delegate. Knowledge and Skills: * Be an accomplished Head Chef and have experience in a senior position in a high-quality kitchen. * Have experience in high volume kitchens * Be reliable, conscientious and punctual able to be a role model who immaculate in presentation and is comfortable talking out front with both our guests and teams * Passionate about using fresh, seasonal and local produce * Understand the local market and can write well put together and properly costed menus that suit the clientele and the brief for the pub. * Able to motivate and train junior members of the team * Be extremely organised, work well under pressure, have a flexible approach to working hours and lead by example. * Able to adhere to company standards and procedures and can hit financial and management targets * Have strong verbal communication and people skills and able to communicate daily to the relevant departments * Have an excellent working knowledge of HACCP and COSHH * Have a Level 2 certification in food hygiene.
