An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 2nd Chef in our client's fresh food pub located on the busy Otley road in Baildon, just outside Shipley. This is very much a fresh quality food venue with a good local reputation for its food which they want to further improve on with a recent change to the menu.
The Halfway House has a modern pub restaurant as well as a purpose-built function room which caters for functions every weekend and has a strong Wedding trae.
They are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic 2nd Chef to team up with their enthusiastic GM and their established Head Chef to produce quality fresh food. You will be able to work on your own initiative and bring new ideas to the table.
The successful candidate will be responsible for running the kitchen operation in the Head Chef's absence, maintaining high levels of hygiene control, health and safety throughout the department, staff development and the highest food quality standards. Whilst taking an active part in developing the business as one of the sites management team.
The right person may already be a 2nd Chef looking for a new challenge or someone with at least 2 years experience working as a Sous Chef or higher.
Must be used to working with locally sourced seasonal ingredients.
Capable of using own initiative and ability to be creative and forward thinking.
Knowledge of good stock taking and menu costing a real advantage.
A working trial may be required in order to establish fit for both parties.
Full time based on 48 hr week
Salary: Negotiable (Depending on Experiences) GBP/annual with the benefit of having accommodation (large flat share above the Halfway).
